Every 6 months for routine care. Patients with gum concerns may benefit from more frequent visits - we’ll tailor that to you.

During your first visit, we will review your dental and medical history forms, and take X-rays of your teeth and mouth. Then, the doctor will meet with you to discuss your X-rays, help you create your own individual treatment plan, and answer any questions that you may have. One of our hygienists will clean and polish your teeth, checking your teeth and gums for any cavities or early signs of tooth decay or gingivitis.

The office does not set up payment plans, but we do accept CareCredit and Allegro, which, if approved, would allow you to make payments on your treatment.

We can bill most companies, but since our office is not in network, we still ask for payment on the day of service. We will then submit your insurance claim for you, and any benefit you may have will be sent directly to you. You can give us a call to verify if we can bill to your insurance company.

We do not participate with the MaineCare program, so we are unable to bill them.

Medicare does not cover dental. However, if you have a supplementary dental plan that you chose to purchase as an add-on, it could possibly have some benefit. Our standard insurance policy will still apply.

We do not, but we work with CareCredit and Allegro for patient financing, which, if approved, could allow you to make payments on your treatment.

We do our best to offer same-day treatment whenever possible. In some cases, if you come in for an emergency appointment, we may have to see you first for an exam to determine what treatment is needed. We will schedule you as soon as possible to complete treatment.

Yes, we can make CEREC crowns in-house, so we can complete them in one office visit.

Immediately call Machias Dental at our office. If there are emergency non-dental injuries, or if you cannot immediately reach our office, then seek medical assistance at the closest emergency room. Make sure to leave us a message so that we can get you in to our office as soon as possible.
